The online degrees offered by the Manderson Graduate School of Business at The University of Alabama are again ranked among the very best in the country by U.S. News & World Report. According to the publication’s 2023 list of Best Online Graduate Programs (non-MBA), Manderson placed 5th overall in best online graduate degrees for veterans and 14th overall.

“We value the sacrifices that veterans have made for our nation, and we are honored to help support them in their academic journey by offering them a world-class, yet affordable, business education,” said Sharif Melouk, Associate Dean of Manderson.

The Manderson degree options assessed together for U.S. News & World Report’s 2023 list of Best Online Graduate Programs (non-MBA) included the following degree programs: the Master of Science in Operations Management (including a decision analytics concentration), the Master of Arts in Management with a global business concentration, and the Master of Science in Marketing (including a marketing analytics concentration).

While also being among the top programs for veterans, Manderson online master’s offerings were ranked among the country’s best at 14th overall, 10th among public programs, and #4 in the SEC.

1,646 schools were included in the 2023 rankings.

Factors that the publication used to decide rankings include student/instructor engagement, expert opinion and reputation, faculty credentials, student excellence, and student services and technologies. For the veteran’s program-specific rankings, eligible programs must be certified for the GI Bill and either be a public institution that charges in-state tuition, or participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program to make the program affordable for vets. Finally, the program must enroll a “critical mass” of veterans (at least ten in graduate programs).

The Manderson Graduate School of Business is housed within UA’s Culverhouse College of Business. Culverhouse itself is the largest college on UA’s campus with a student body of nearly 10,00 students and 60,000-plus alumni.

Culverhouse Dean Kay M. Palan said, “Our #5 ranking for online business master’s degrees for veterans underscores our commitment to quality business education for all students–and we are especially proud to support our veterans to whom we owe so much.”

“Furthermore, retaining our place among the best overall is a clear indicator of the high quality of our online business degree offerings.”

In addition to its online specialized master’s options, Manderson offers a variety of other on-campus degree programs, including a Master of Science in Business Analytics and a Master of Science in Management Information Systems.

Manderson is also home to an acclaimed on-campus MBA program, which was ranked 30th  among public institutions last year by U.S. News & World Report and 57th overall.
