UA Innovate will host The University of Alabama’s first female-led hackathon and innovation challenge on April 2-3 in Hewson Hall. The 24-hour event will encourage collaboration among collegiate minds as they strategize technology-based solutions to the prompts they receive. These prompts include, but aren’t limited to, matters of social impact, cyber security, prototype innovation, data analytics, and full-stack development. UA Innovate Hackathon and Innovation Challenge is open to all students, regardless of major or level of experience.
Culverhouse students are strongly encouraged to participate.
On the line is more than just bragging rights. Each category will have a $1,000 prize, plus other prizes including tech gadgets. These prizes were made possible thanks to the generous contributions of event sponsors and co-host, Walmart. Many of the sponsoring companies will also have tech and recruitment staff at the event, ready to work with student participants. n
