Biography

Dr. Qin Wang is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Culverhouse College of Business, University of Alabama. She received her Ph.D. in Marketing from the W. P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University, her M.S. in Marketing from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and her B.A. in Business Administration from Xi’an Jiao Tong University. Her research areas focus on consumer behavior and social psychology. More specifically, her current work examines cross-cultural consumer behavior, consumer identity, compensatory consumption, sustainable consumption, and consumer well-being. Her research has been published in journals such as the Journal of Consumer Psychology (JCP), Current Opinion in Psychology, and Psychology & Marketing. She has won several awards in recognition of research excellence, including the 2024 JCP Best Paper by an Early Career Contributor Award, the 2020-2021 Society for Consumer Psychology Schumann Dissertation Competition Award, the 2020 Robert B. Cialdini Distinguished Research Award, and Honorable Mention for the 2019 Association for Consumer Research/Sheth Foundation Dissertation Award Cross-Cultural Research Track.
