What is LAUNCH? Our version of orientation for the incoming traditional (two-year) Class of 2020 and STEM MBA Class of 2019.
What is Speaker's Edge? A two day competition in which you will deliver a number of presentations as individuals and teams. Some of these speeches will be fully prepared and memorized and some will be crafted on-the-spot. In both cases, these presentations will mirror what is expected of you in the working world. Judges will provide you with real-world feedback, in a non-judgmental fashion, and we encourage you to soak it up and let this opportunity kickstart your time here and your career. You'll learn so much more about it later, and the important thing to note is there is NO PREP needed prior to LAUNCH. However, your career workshop will aid in your success!
What clothes do I need to have for all of LAUNCH? Mostly business casual, but Thursday and Friday require professional business attire (suits). More details to come!
What other resources are out there? Check out the Grad School's New Student resources here (NO, you don't have to attend GROW. Lori will assist in coordinating any LAUNCH conflicts related to GAs). This site includes tips for surviving grad school and support programs across campus.
