On Friday September 20th, the University of Alabama INFORMS Student Chapter will host Dr. Zhe Jiang for a talk on geospatial data science. Jiang is an assistant professor of computer science in the Department of Computer Science within the College of Engineering at The University of Alabama. Jiang holds a PhD from in computer science from The University of Minnesota and a BE degree from The University of Science and Technology in China. Jiang has served/serves as a reviewer for reputable conferences such as ACM SIGKDD, SIGSPATIAL, AAAI, and journals such as IEEE TKED.

Jiang’s research interests include spatial big data analytics, spatiotemporal data mining, spatial database, geographic information systems as well as their interdisciplinary applications in earth science, public safety and public health.
