2025 AIS Student Chapter Leadership Conference

The University of Alabama | Tuscaloosa, AL | March 27-29, 2025

Lead Like a Legend

The Association for Information Systems (AIS) serves society through the advancement of knowledge and the promotion of excellence in the practice and study of information systems. AIS is the premier professional association for individuals and organizations who lead the research, teaching, practice, and study of information systems worldwide.

At the AIS Student Chapter Leadership Conference, the most talented students from some of the world’s most prestigious IS programs will discuss best practices, network with industry experts, share cutting-edge innovations, and experience Tuscaloosa with their fellow students and faculty.

This three-day experience — taking place March 27-29 on the campus of The University of Alabama — involves intense student competitions, exciting panels and workshops, and recognition of the nation’s most outstanding IS students and student chapter activities.

Competition Details

AIS Student Chapter competitions provide students with opportunities to learn, observe, and develop their skills with current industry leaders. The aim is to allow students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-life situations they might face in the workforce.

  • 1st place team: $2000 USD
  • 2nd place team: $1000
  • 3rd place team: $500
  • Faculty can give insight and advice, but the competition submissions should reflect the students’ work.
  • A team must consist of 2-4 students. Some additional consideration will be given to teams that include at least one first- or second-year undergraduate student. Help us develop the next generation of IS and data professionals.
  • Students can participate in multiple competitions but cannot be finalists in multiple competitions. If a student is a finalist in more than one competition, the student must choose which one to compete in at the finals held at SCLC 2025 at the University of Alabama in March 2025.
  • Competition details announced – November 2024
  • February 20, 2025 (11:59 PM Eastern)
  • February 28, 2025 – Finalists notified
  • March 28-29, 2025 – Final presentations (during SCLC) and winners announced

The 2025 AIS Student Chapter Conference invites you to participate in our poster presentation, where you can present your latest work in the Information Systems field. There are three categories of presentations you can request to present for:

  • IS Research: This is your platform to share innovative ideas on emerging technologies, data analytics, cybersecurity, or other IS topics deemed appropriate by The University of Alabama Conference Planning Team. Posters should clearly communicate your research question, methodology, findings, and conclusions.
  • Student Chapter’s Activities: How to manage an AIS student chapter including tips for engagement, organizational structure, and financial management.
  • Competition Submission: If you are submitting a project for one of the approved competition tracks, you can also develop a poster presentation to further showcase your hard work!

This is an excellent opportunity to receive feedback from industry professionals and academics, gain recognition for your efforts, and inspire future collaborations.

Submit your proposal by 3/13/2025 to be approved to present at the 2025 AIS SCLC. Submission link coming soon!

  • Only teams from current AIS Student Chapters are eligible to complete.
