Dr. Whaley is an applied microeconomist with research interests centering around risk, uncertainty, and insurance. His research focuses primarily on higher-order risk attitudes and how individual behavior affects distributional characteristics like variance, skewness and kurtosis. His work encompasses a wide base of sub-disciplines including applications in contest theory, finance, health economics, and agricultural economics.
