MIS ADVISORY BOARD

PARTNERS IN PROGRESS

The MIS Advisory Board is a group of alumni and other stakeholders of the Management Information Systems (MIS) program at The University of Alabama. The board provides strategic guidance, industry insight, and professional support to enhance the program’s continued excellence. Comprised of accomplished alumni from diverse sectors of the tech and business world, the board serves as a vital link between the MIS program and the professional community.

Board members collaborate with faculty and staff to support curriculum development, student engagement initiatives, and career readiness efforts. By sharing their experiences and perspectives, they help ensure the program remains innovative, relevant, and aligned with industry needs. The General Board also plays a key role in fostering a strong, connected MIS alumni network and promoting opportunities for mentorship and collaboration.

The Executive Tier is composed of distinguished alumni who have demonstrated a long-standing commitment to supporting the MIS program through leadership, mentorship, and corporate partnerships. These individuals bring deep industry experience and strategic insight, helping to shape the direction of the program and strengthen its connection to the business and technology communities.

Stay Connected,
Stay Influential

Advisory Board members can help shape the MIS curriculum by sharing insights into industry trends and developments. The Board offers an ongoing connection to the UA MIS community, professional development opportunities like workshops, and a valuable network of alumni, students, and faculty.

driving impact

Board members offer critical feedback on the program’s strengths, job market alignment, and areas for growth. They also engage directly with students each semester, mentoring and helping shape a curriculum that remains relevant and industry-driven.

More Than a Meeting

Sessions are centered around professional development and skill-building workshops relevant to today’s tech and business landscape. Members also provide feedback on the MIS curriculum, network with alumni and Executive Board members, and can attend either in person (once per semester) or virtually.
