Biography

Tigran Melkonyan is a Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics, Finance & Legal Studies at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. Prior to joining the University of Alabama, he held faculty appointments at the University of Maryland (College Park), the University of Nevada (Reno), the University of Exeter, and the University of Warwick. He has also served as a Visiting Scholar at CY Cergy Paris and the International Monetary Fund, and has consulted for the United Nations Development Programme as well as several other international organizations.

Tigran’s research focuses on decision-making under risk and uncertainty, applied game theory, and environmental economics. His work has appeared in leading journals across economics, management, and psychology, including Management Science, Journal of the European Economic Association, Academy of Management Review, Psychological Review, Trends in Cognitive Sciences, Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, Economic Theory, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of Mathematical Economics, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, and Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, among others.
