For some students, few challenges are ever sufficient. The Faculty Scholars program matches 30 Culverhouse students with 30 scholars. Relationships unfold where students assist professors in research and teaching activities for 10 hours every week. The experience is tailored to the interests and backgrounds of the students and participating faculty members, and it may involve assisting with research, developing computer programs, processing data, and assisting in developing teaching material and committee work.
The Faculty Scholars Program provides highly qualified and motivated students with opportunities to interact with faculty members as apprentices. The program provides an experience not available to the average student. At the end of the first year, these students will know each faculty mentor better than many graduating seniors.
