Dr. Keskin is currently one of the co-advisors of the MBA program SCOM concentration. She is also the faculty advisor of the Women MBA International (http://www.mbawomen.org/).
Dr. Keskin received the Outstanding Content Expert from the College of Continuing Studies in Fall 2010 for her online OM523 Inventory Management course.
Dr. Keskin is a part of the Business Analytics Initiative in the Culverhouse College of Commerce. She is a member of the organizing committee for the 2013 Business Analytics Symposium.
Dr. Keskin is an active member of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS). Dr. Keskin is the Treasurer and Vice President of Tuscaloosa Region, INFORMS Deep South Chapter. Dr. Keskin was an elected officer (secretary and president) of INFORMS Junior Faculty Interest Group from 2008 through 2011. Since 2008, Dr. Keskin is part of INFORMS Chapters/Fora and INFORMS Education Committees. In 2012, Dr. Keskin was a member of the INFORMS Annual Conference Organization Committee. Dr. Keskin is the faculty advisor of the INFORMS Student Chapter at the University of Alabama (https://sites.google.com/site/informsatua/). Due to her involvement with student chapters, Dr. Keskin is a recipient of the INFORMS Judith Liebman Moving Spirit Award in 2007.
Dr. Keskin is also an active member of the other professional institutes: the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), the Production and Operations Management Society, and the Institute for Industrial Engineers (IIE). She is part of the organizing committee for 2013 DSI conference in Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Keskin is active in research. She advises Ph.D. students and mentors Masters and undergraduate students. She has obtained funding for her research through the University Transportation Center for Alabama grants and several companies. Dr. Keskin has numerous publications in journals including Naval Research Logistics, IIE Transactions, European Journal of Operational Research, Computers and Operations Research, Transportation Research: Part-E, Journal of Operational Research Society, Information Resources Management Journal, and Interfaces. Her paper on routing state troopers was highlighted in the 2012 spring issue of University’s research magazine due to its potential impact. Another paper by Dr. Keskin and Dr. Melouk on scheduling NCAA basketball tournament was highlighted by ESPN, FoxNews, and Culverhouse Executive Magazine. Dr. Keskin is in the editorial boards of International Journal of Operations Research and Information Systems and International Journal of Integrated Supply Management. She is also a ad-hoc reviewer over ten journals.
