Quoc Hoang named Advisor of the Year

Quoc Hoang was named the Exemplo Capstone Awards’ John L. Blackburn Advisor of the Year. Hoang is the faculty advisor of Culverhouse’s Management Consulting Academy, which was named Exemplo’s Outstanding Professional/Law Organization.

Along with serving as faculty advisor for the Consulting Academy, Hoang is director of experiential learning, faculty advisor and coach for the Manderson MBA Case Team and Undergrad Case Team, as well as director of the Culverhouse First Generation Community.

“Despite being an advisor for four different organizations, Quoc still manages to uniquely uplift each of the students within those groups to be the best they can be in their own way,” read a statement on Hoang’s behalf to the Exemplo Capstone Awards. “The amount of time, effort and talent required to organize all of those events simultaneously and collaborate with students across so many different areas of campus is unbelievable.”

The Exemplo Capstone Awards is hosted by The Office of Student Involvement, University Programs (UP), Blackburn Institute, Student Government Association, UA Student Center, and the Center for Service and Leadership (CSL). These awards honor the contributions of individuals and campus organizations to service and leadership within and outside of the UA community. These are the highest honors bestowed upon student organizations and individuals in regard to campus leadership and service.

“In terms of performance and attention to student development, he is second to none,” the statement continued. “As an alumnus who has been involved with his programs, Quoc has changed my life dramatically for the better. I would hot have the job, skills, and knowledge that I have without Quoc’s advisory presence guiding me throughout college of other students in each of these organizations can attest to that.”
